Storm Damage Repair in Rossmoor

After hard wind and heavy rain, we inspect your roof, photograph every point of damage and explain what it will cost to fix now against what it may cost later. You get a repair plan you can weigh calmly, with the numbers in writing.

What storm damage repair covers

Storm damage is rarely one dramatic hole. More often it is a row of shingles whose seal strips have let go, a few cracked or shifted tiles, a bent piece of ridge flashing, or a vent boot torn loose. Each one is small. Left alone through a few more rains, each one lets water reach the underlayment and the wood deck beneath it.

Our job is to locate every one of those weak points, fix each with shingle or tile chosen to blend into the roof you already have, and tell you plainly when a repair is the better value and when it is not. A patch that holds for one season can cost more over ten years than doing the section properly the first time.

Southern California storms tend to arrive as a long wind followed by a long soak, so damage that looks cosmetic in the morning can be a leak by evening. We work as a licensed roofing contractor, CSLB 1092407 (C-39), and we are insured, so the repair and the people doing it are accountable.

What the work includes

A full roof walk, not a spot check

We look at every slope, not just the side that faced the wind. Ridges, hips, valleys, penetrations and gutters all get checked, because storm damage often hides on the slope you cannot see from the yard.

Photos of every finding

You get clear pictures of each damaged area, labeled so you know where it is on your roof. Keep them in your files, or hand them to your adjuster if you decide to file.

Matched shingle and tile repairs

We source shingles and tile as close as we can to your existing color and profile. On asphalt roofs we bring our CertainTeed ShingleMaster credential to the work, and we hand-seal replacement tabs so they lie flat with the rest of the roof.

Flashing, vents and ridge caps

Bent flashing and loosened ridge caps are where wind-driven rain gets in first. We refasten or replace them and reseal around chimneys, skylights and pipe boots.

Underlayment and decking where needed

If water has already reached the layers below, we open the area, replace soft or stained decking and lay new underlayment before closing it up. We show you what we found before we replace anything.

Cleanup and a magnet sweep

Broken tile, old nails and debris leave with us. We sweep the driveway and beds with a magnet before we go.

Signs your roof took storm damage

Shingles in the yard or gutters
Whole tabs on the ground mean the wind broke the seal on others nearby. Those loose neighbors are the next to go.
Cracked, slipped or missing tile
Tile itself is durable, but a slipped piece exposes the underlayment beneath it to sun and rain. Underlayment, not tile, is what keeps water out.
New stains on a ceiling or wall
A brown ring that appeared after a storm points to water already past the roof. The sooner the source is found, the less drywall and insulation you replace.
Granules piling at downspouts
A heavy wash of grit after a storm means shingles lost their protective surface. They will age faster in the sun from here.
Lifted edges or bent flashing
Look along the roof edge and around the chimney from the ground. Anything curled, raised or out of line is worth a closer look.

How a storm repair job runs

  1. 1

    An inspection by appointment

We set a time that works for you, walk the roof and check the attic if we can reach it. Nothing is repaired on this visit unless something needs to be covered right away to keep water out.

  2. 2

    Findings and a written estimate

You get photos and a free written estimate that lists each repair separately. Where a repair and a larger section replacement are both reasonable, we price both and explain how long each should hold.

  3. 3

    Insurance, if you are filing

We work directly with your insurance claim, sharing our photos and scope with the adjuster and meeting them on the roof if that helps. The adjuster decides coverage; we make sure the damage is clearly documented.

  4. 4

    Repair day

We protect plants, patio furniture and walkways, then make the repairs in order from the deck up. Most storm repairs finish in a day.

  5. 5

    Final walk and cleanup

We show you the finished work, in person or in photos, and leave the site swept and clear.

What moves the cost of storm repair

Storm repairs range from a few shingles to a full section of decking, so we price from what we actually find on your roof. The written estimate shows each item, and you see where the money goes before any work begins. Financing is available through Service Finance Company, subject to credit approval.

How far the water got
Surface damage costs far less than damage that has soaked the underlayment and deck. This is the main reason we encourage an inspection soon after a storm.
Roof material
Concrete and clay tile need careful handling and matched replacements, which takes more time than asphalt shingle work. Discontinued colors can also take longer to source.
Roof pitch and access
Steep slopes and second-story eaves need extra safety setup. Easy-access single-story roofs move faster.
Repair or section replacement
Sometimes replacing a whole slope costs more today but avoids paying for three separate patches over the next decade. We lay out both options so you can compare them over time, not only on the day.

Storm damage repair questions

Should I file an insurance claim before or after the inspection?
After is usually better. Our free inspection tells you whether the damage is significant enough to be worth a claim, and gives you photos to support it. If it is minor, a simple repair may cost less than your deductible.
Will the repaired shingles or tiles match the rest of my roof?
We get as close as the market allows. Sun and age change the color of any roof, so a brand-new piece can look slightly brighter at first and blends in over time. If your exact product is no longer made, we show you the closest options before we order.
Is it a repair or do I need a new roof?
It depends on how much damage there is and how much life your roof had left before the storm. If the roof is near the end of its service life, spending on repairs may not pay off, and we will say so. If it has good years ahead, a repair is usually the better value, and our Roof Replacement page explains what a full reroof involves.
Can you cover the damage until repairs are done?
Yes. If an opening is letting water in, we can secure a tarp during the inspection visit so the interior stays dry until the permanent repair is scheduled.

Have the storm damage looked at properly

We will walk the whole roof, photograph what the weather did and give you a written estimate that weighs today's cost against the years ahead. Homes in Rossmoor, Los Alamitos, Seal Beach and nearby are on our regular route.
