Urgent Roof Repair in Rossmoor
When a limb comes through the roof or a winter storm opens a leak over a bedroom, we stop the water with a secure temporary cover. Then we plan a permanent repair that matches your roof. The first visit is a roof inspection.

Stop the water first, then repair it once
Sudden roof damage is really two jobs. The first is keeping rain out of your home so the decking, insulation and ceilings stay dry. The second is the lasting repair, done once the weather allows and the right materials are on hand.
Most callbacks in roofing come from rushing the second job. Mismatched shingles, a cracked tile set in a smear of mastic, or flashing tacked down with exposed nails can hold for a season and then leak again. We size each repair to last as long as the roof around it. That often costs a little more on the day and much less over the following years.
We are a licensed roofing contractor, CSLB 1092407 (C-39), and we are insured, so the work on your roof is covered while our crew is up there.
What the work includes
- A temporary cover that holds
- Heavy tarp is wrapped around wood battens and fastened above the damage, then lapped under the courses upslope so water runs over it, not under it. Sandbags and loose tarps blow off in the first strong gust, so we don't rely on them.
- An attic check from inside
- We look at the underside of the decking, the rafters and the insulation below the damage. Wet insulation loses its value and can hold moisture against the drywall, so we point out what should be pulled and replaced.
- Photos of everything we find
- You get clear pictures of the damage, the cover and the attic. They are useful for your records and for an insurance claim, and we work directly with your insurance claim if you file one.
- A repair matched to your roof
- Asphalt shingles, clay or concrete tile and low-slope flat roofs each need a different fix. On shingle roofs we hold CertainTeed ShingleMaster status, and we install replacement shingles with the nailing and sealing that system calls for.
- Cleanup before we leave
- Debris goes in our truck, and the yard, driveway and walkways are swept with a magnet for nails and staples.
Signs the damage can't wait for a routine visit
Water coming through a ceiling
Drips at a light fixture, a vent or a seam in the drywall mean water has already passed the roof deck. Catch it in a bucket and keep power off to any wet fixture.
A bulging or spreading stain
A ceiling that sags or a stain that grows during rain is holding water. It needs attention before the drywall gives way.
Shingles or tiles gone after wind
Strong Santa Ana gusts can lift shingle tabs and slide tiles out of place. Exposed underlayment breaks down quickly in sun and rain.
A limb on the roof
Even when a branch looks like it only scraped the surface, it can crack decking or tiles underneath. Leave it where it is until we can look.
Flashing pulled loose
Metal peeled back at a chimney, skylight or wall lets water run straight into framing, often far from where it shows up inside.
How a repair visit runs
- 1
You describe what happened
On the phone we ask where the water is showing, what the roof is made of and whether anything is still hanging loose. That tells us what to bring. Service is available in English and Spanish.
- 2
We assess safely
We check the roof from the ground and the attic before anyone climbs a damaged section. Then we walk the roof and photograph the damage.
- 3
We cover and secure
The temporary cover goes on, loose material is removed, and we confirm from the attic that the opening is dry.
- 4
You get a written estimate
The estimate lists the permanent repair line by line. If the damage shows the roof is near the end of its life, we say so plainly and compare a repair against roof replacement so you can see what each costs over the years ahead.
- 5
We make the lasting repair
With materials matched and the weather clear, we replace decking where needed, rebuild the underlayment and flashing, finish the surface and clean up.

What moves the cost
Every sudden repair is priced after we have seen the roof, and the estimate is free and in writing. The temporary cover and the permanent repair are listed separately, so you know what each part costs. Financing is available through Service Finance Company, subject to credit approval.
- How far the damage reaches
- A few lifted shingles is a small job. Cracked or soaked decking has to be cut out and replaced, which adds material and labor.
- Your roofing material
- Shingles are usually quick to match. Older clay or concrete tile can take time to source, and tile has to be lifted and reset carefully around the repair.
- Pitch and access
- Steep slopes, second stories and tight side yards call for more safety setup and slow the work.
- Interior work needed
- Replacing wet insulation in the attic adds to the job. We note it separately so you can decide.
Questions about sudden roof damage
Something not covered here? (562) 553-3846
Will my insurance cover this?
It depends on your policy and the cause. Sudden storm or wind damage is often covered, while wear over time usually is not. We work directly with your insurance claim, provide photos and a written estimate, and explain the steps. The adjuster makes the coverage decision.
Should I go up and put a tarp on myself?
We'd rather you didn't. Wet roofs are slippery, and damaged decking may not hold your weight. Put buckets under drips, move valuables, turn off power to any wet fixture and leave the roof to us.
How long can a temporary cover stay on?
A properly fastened tarp can protect your home for a period of weeks, but sun breaks it down and wind works at the edges. It is meant to bridge the gap to a real repair, not replace one, so we plan the permanent work as soon as materials and weather allow.
Is it better to repair or replace after damage like this?
If the rest of the roof has years left, a well-matched repair is usually the better value. If the roof is already brittle or patched in several places, putting money into a repair may only delay a replacement. We show you both numbers in writing so the choice is yours.
Do you handle tile and flat roofs too?
Yes. We repair asphalt shingle, clay and concrete tile and low-slope flat roofs. Our tile roofing and flat roofing services cover how we work on each material in more detail.
